Mini eUpdate from Northants CALC
To All Member Councils: There’s a police and crime theme to this week’s mini eUpdate:
Northamptonshire Rural Matters
Northamptonshire Police has published a new newsletter called “Northamptonshire Rural Matters”. It is a newsletter for residents and businesses about the work going on to fight rural crime in Northamptonshire. The first issue introduces the Rural and Wildlife Crime Team and there’s a message from the Chief Constable, Nick Adderley. It covers issues of great interest to parish and town councils, such as Fly-tipping, rural burglary and theft of farm equipment. Northamptonshire Police are asking parish and town councils to help circulate the newsletter. It is available as a PDF only but if every parish and town council in the county posted a copy on their web sites and Facebook pages (many have done so already, thank you) it will help reach a very wide audience. A copy of the newsletter is available at https://www.northantscalc.com/uploads/northamptonshire-rural-matters-spring-summer-2019.pdf.
You’ll hopefully be used to seeing the invitations to the regular meetings for councillors held by the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Stephen Mold. We have been asked to draw your attention in particular to the meeting being held on 16 July 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lecture Theatre at Wootton Hall, Northampton. There is going to be a focus on the burglary team and the Force’s new approach to burglary and the commitment to visit every victim. Burglary is such a key issue and this is such a major shift in policy, that it will be a very interesting meeting to attend. After a welcome from Stephen Mold, there will be a presentation by Detective Inspector Wayne Preece, who leads the Force Burglary Team about the new focus on burglary and the Force’s Operation Crooked. There will then be an opportunity to ask Stephen any questions you have for him. If you would like to attend please email Emily.email@example.com to reserve a place.
That’s it for now. I hope you have a very good weekend..
